Basketball Recap: Blake Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Blake won the last time they faced Camden and things went their way on Monday too. The Blake Bears walked away with an 85-77 victory over the Camden Patriots. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Patriots are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Blake's win bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Camden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blake will take on Southwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwest Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Blake likes a good challenge. As for Camden, they will challenge Washburn at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Camden's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
