Basketball Recap: Chopticon Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Chopticon fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Huntingtown on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 69-62 to the Hurricanes. The loss leaves the Braves still looking for their first win of the season.

Huntingtown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Smith, who posted ten points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Smith continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyson Powell, who put up ten points and seven boards.

Chopticon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Huntingtown, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Chopticon and Leonardtown will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:15 p.m. on January 9, 2026. As for Huntingtown, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-51 victory against Annapolis on the 18th.
