Softball Game Preview: Teutopolis Wooden Shoes vs. Tuscola Warriors

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes are taking a road trip to face off against the Tuscola Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Teutopolis has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Things were looking good for Teutopolis after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Farina South Central by a score of 6-4.

Teutopolis saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Wermert, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was Wermert's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuscola played in-conference for the first time on Monday and got just the result they were looking for. They had just enough and edged out Central A & M 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Ava Boyer was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Tuscola's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Teutopolis, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Teutopolis couldn't quite finish off Tuscola when the teams last played back in April of 2023 and fell 6-4. Can the Wooden Shoes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
