The matchup between Grant and Newaygo on Monday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 20-6 margin over the Lions. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Aiden Booth, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Gates, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Grant's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Newaygo, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Grant will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair will be back at it again later today.
