Recap: Seton LaSalle Rebels vs. Serra Catholic Eagles
The Seton LaSalle Rebels pushed their score all the way to 71 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 72-71 to Serra Catholic. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (56), Seton LaSalle still had to take the loss.
Leading Serra Catholic to victory were Pete Burke and Isiah Petty. Burke scored 22 points along with 6 assists and 5 steals, while Petty scored 28 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Petty has scored at least 25% of Serra Catholic's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Dumbroski, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds.
Seton LaSalle's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Serra Catholic, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seton LaSalle's road trip will continue as they head out to face Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on December 6th. As for Serra Catholic, they will take on Sewickley Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
