Basketball Recap: Castro Valley Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

On Thursday, the Castro Valley Trojans never let the Valley Christian Vikings onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Vikings are ranked 1187th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Castro Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Valley Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

Castro Valley has already played their next game, a 59-58 victory against Piedmont on the 14th. As for Valley Christian, they will challenge Averroes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
