Softball Recap: North Gaston Wildcats vs. South Point Red Raiders

North Gaston got themselves on the board against South Point on Friday, but South Point never followed suit. They blew past the South Point Red Raiders 13-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for North Gaston considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Madelyn Carpenter was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Skylar Smith was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and a double.

On South Point's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Gibson, who went 1-for-1 with a stolen base and a double.

North Gaston pushed their record up to 6-11 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for South Point, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
