Soccer Game Preview: Polk County vs. Murphy

The Polk County Wolverines will head out to take on the Murphy Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Polk County knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Murphy likes a good challenge.

Polk County is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Hendersonville on Thursday. The Wolverines and the Bearcats finished up their contest with a 4-4 draw.

Meanwhile, Murphy's game on Wednesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over Tri-County. Murphy's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Murphy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those six games. With that draw, Polk County's record moves to 9-2-1.
