Basketball Recap: Zumbrota-Mazeppa Comes Up Short

Zumbrota-Mazeppa lost against Lourdes back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars lost to the Lourdes Eagles at home by a 68-50 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Eagles are ranked 119th).

Zumbrota-Mazeppa dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lourdes, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa and Blooming Prairie will round out the year against one another at at 5:15 p.m. on December 28th. As for Lourdes, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Maple River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
