Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Illiana Christian). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors a 20-0 shutout on Monday. The Vikings have beaten the Warriors the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.

Cayden Petersen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Petersen was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lydia VanderWoude, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Lexy Miedema was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Illiana Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hammond Bishop Noll only posted an OBP of .263.
