Basketball Recap: Fillmore Central Takes a Loss

Fillmore Central was the 61-46 winner over Southland when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Fillmore Central Falcons took a blow against the Southland Rebels on Saturday, falling 77-38. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Rebels are ranked 47th).

Fillmore Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Southland, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Fillmore Central will take on Hayfield at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southland, they will challenge Spring Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
