Basketball Game Preview: Skyline Thunderbirds vs. Attica Bulldogs

The Skyline Thunderbirds will head out to face off against the Attica Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Skyline took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They secured a 47-41 W over Stafford. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Attica entered their tilt with Fairfield on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Falcons 60-30. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Falcons are ranked 291st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Attica pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points over those games. As for Skyline, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9-2.

Skyline might still be hurting after the 51-27 loss they got from Attica in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Attica's Zoie Redgate, who posted 18 points along with eight steals and seven boards. Now that Skyline knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
