Preview: Bret Harte vs. Summerville
Summerville (6-1) takes on Bret Harte (1-6) this Friday at 7:00 PM. Summerville has had difficulty moving the ball in its last six games, so hopefully it can find a way to get more yardage this week.
Summerville didn't have too many spare points last week in its contest with Argonaut, but it still walked away with a 42 - 37 win. Senior Kyle Mccarver was a defensive powerhouse in the victory and ended up with 12 total tackles.
As for Bret Harte, it was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last week as it fell 34 - 27 to Amador. However, junior Ryan Kraft didn't go down without a fight as he threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Kraft also tagged on a 40-yard TD reception in the first quarter.
The last time they met, Bret Harte was the clear winner with a 34 - 3 finish. This week Summerville will be hoping to improve on the low 139-yard mark it set that game. Can it avoid another defeat? We'll see on Friday.
