Basketball Game Preview: Simpson Broncos vs. Holy Savior Menard Eagles

Simpson is on a three-game streak of home losses, Holy Savior Menard a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Simpson Broncos will host the Holy Savior Menard Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Simpson was beaten by Negreet 69-27. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Indians are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Holy Savior Menard was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 59-55 to Hicks.

Simpson will have to contain Baylor Smith as he made an impact in Holy Savior Menard's last game. He went 7 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. The contest was Smith's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Burch, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Holy Savior Menard's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Simpson, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
