Lancaster hadn't done well against Essex recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 16-6 win. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Lancaster's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Essex, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lancaster beat the Trojans by a score of 17-6 later that day.
