Soccer Game Preview: Alexander Central vs. Hickory Christian Academy

The Alexander Central Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Hickory Christian Academy Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Alexander Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Friday, Alexander Central and Davie finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Hickory Christian Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Gaston Day by a score of 2-1 last Tuesday. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Knights couldn't quite close it out.

Alexander Central's draw gives them a new season record of 0-2-3. As for Hickory Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Alexander Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Hickory Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alexander Central since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
