Softball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins vs. Catholic Crusaders
After flying high against Norfolk Academy last Tuesday, Cape Henry Collegiate came back down to earth. The Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins fell just short of the Catholic Crusaders by a score of 13-12 on Wednesday. Cape Henry Collegiate was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Catholic apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Cape Henry Collegiate got a massive performance out of Macie Konikoff, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Payton Devalda, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Cape Henry Collegiate's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3. As for Catholic, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Peninsula Catholic the next time they take the field. Catholic will head out to face Peninsula Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Cape Henry Collegiate will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
