Basketball Recap: Trey Larsen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dawson School over Union Colony Prep

If Dawson School was riding high fresh off their 49-25 takedown of Gilpin County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dawson School Mustangs fell to the Union Colony Prep Timberwolves 70-64. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-50 back in January.

Dawson School's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Larsen, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 16 points and three steals. Larsen is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last three games he's played. Isaiah Tu was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine assists.

Even though they lost, Dawson School was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Dawson School dropped their record down to 8-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Union Colony Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.
