Baseball Game Preview: Analy Tigers vs. St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs

For the second straight game, Analy will face off against St. Vincent de Paul. The Tigers will take on the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Analy has five straight wins, St. Vincent de Paul has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Analy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on St. Vincent de Paul with a sharp 24-2 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Tigers have won five games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wes Bush made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Analy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Analy got a massive performance out of Hunter Thomas, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Thomas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt O' Brien, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.

Analy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .642. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Analy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for St. Vincent de Paul, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

St. Vincent de Paul's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Analy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466.
