Preview: Cedarville Indians vs. Mechanicsburg Indians
Cedarville is 9-1 against Mechanicsburg since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cedarville Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mechanicsburg Indians at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Cedarville suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Fairbanks by a score of 39-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cedarville has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Mechanicsburg's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 49-36 to Southeastern Local.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Lane Poland, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keegan Freeze, who scored ten points.
Mechanicsburg struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Cedarville and nudges their season record down to 10-3. As for Mechanicsburg, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-10.
Everything came up roses for Cedarville against Mechanicsburg in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 83-39 win. Will Cedarville repeat their success, or does Mechanicsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
