Basketball Recap: Beatty Takes a Loss

Beatty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Mineral County Serpents and fell 53-24. The Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Serpents from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Mineral County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaeden Majano, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Majano is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Evan Cox, who posted 14 points and three blocks.

Beatty's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mineral County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Beatty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-15 loss against Pyramid Lake on the 6th. As for Mineral County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-45 defeat against Pershing County on the 6th.
