Baseball Recap: Maple River Extends Winning Streak to Five

Maple River got themselves on the board against Le Sueur-Henderson on Tuesday, but Le Sueur-Henderson never followed suit. They came out on top against the Giants by a score of 3-0. The win was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

The result came thanks to Gavin Halvorson's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Vait, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Maple River's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Le Sueur-Henderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Maple River will be playing at home against Minnesota Valley Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Le Sueur-Henderson, they are taking a road trip to square off against St. Clair at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
