Esperanza won the last time they faced Northwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Aztecs came out on top against the Timberwolves by a score of 71-62. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aztecs.

Loss or not, Northwood got some senior leadership from Sam Alegre and Dane Mortensen. Alegre shot 44% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to six boards and five assists, while Mortensen went 7-for-14 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. The contest was Mortensen's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ian Jung, who posted five points.

Esperanza's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Northwood, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Esperanza will face off against Servite at 7:00 p.m. on December 5. As for Northwood, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Aliso Niguel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
