Volleyball Recap: Canyon Cougars vs. San Marcos Rattlers
Canyon waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the San Marcos Rattlers with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played on October 4th.
Canyon was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-22, 25-23.
Marlee Lightsey paced Canyon's offense, picking up 14 kills. Lightsey got some help from
Logan Sanders and her 25 assists.
Sala Nuu controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Canyon's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 31-13. As for San Marcos, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-18 record this season.
A feisty cat fight will be fought when Cougars takes on Medina Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Marcos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
