Baseball Recap: First Assembly Christian Victorious

After low-scoring totals in their previous three match, First Assembly Christian brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cordova Wolves a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won eight in a row.

Christian Forrest made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Forrest was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Conner Palmer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Jones, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

First Assembly Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-17-1. As for Cordova, they dropped their record down to 6-4-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Assembly Christian will challenge Whitehaven at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Tigers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Cordova, they will take on Overton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
