Baseball Recap: Higbee Gets the Win

While Higbee's win against Wellsville-Middletown wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Higbee had just enough and edged out Wellsville-Middletown 10-9 on Friday. Considering Higbee's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Corbin Imhoff made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cale Nelson and Tyler Diederich did most of the damage at the plate: Nelson went 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Diederich got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. That's the most RBI Nelson has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Price, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Higbee's record is now 5-17-1. As for Wellsville-Middletown, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Coming up, Higbee will head out on the road to face off against Marion County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wellsville-Middletown, they will welcome Silex at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
