Basketball Game Preview: Hershey Panthers vs. Bridgeport Bulldogs

Hershey is 1-9 against Bridgeport since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hershey Panthers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Bridgeport Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hershey comes in on three and Bridgeport on 14.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hershey faced off against Chadron on Wednesday. Hershey walked away with a 50-37 win over Chadron.

Meanwhile, everything went Bridgeport's way against Gordon-Rushville on Friday as Bridgeport made off with a 64-42 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Bridgeport's win came from a few key players Hershey will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tacey From, who dropped a triple-double with 15 points, 12 boards, and ten steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 29 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Schluterbusch, who posted 16 points and six steals.

Bridgeport smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Bridgeport pushed their record up to 22-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.6 points. As for Hershey, their record is now 13-9.

Hershey came up short against Bridgeport in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-41. Can Hershey avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
