Recap: Sargent Farmers vs. Sanford Mustangs
The Sargent Farmers lost against the Sanford Mustangs back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sargent suffered a rough 56-32 loss at the hands of Sanford. Sargent has struggled against Sanford recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Farmers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Lester, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Temple, who scored 11 points.
Sanford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cash Caldon out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ben Sittler, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Sargent's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Sanford, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Sargent and South Park will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sargent is facing South Park at the right time seeing as South Park is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Sanford, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cotopaxi at 2:00 p.m. on February 10th. One thing working in Sanford's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
