Preview: West-Oak Warriors vs. Crescent Tigers
West-Oak has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Crescent Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
West-Oak suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Walhalla at home and fell 61-28. West-Oak was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.
Despite the defeat, West-Oak got a solid performance out of Lucas Towe, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Crompton, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, West-Oak smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Crescent's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 48-24 walloping at the hands of Pendleton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Crescent has scored all season.
West-Oak has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Crescent, they bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
West-Oak strolled past Crescent when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 55-40. Does West-Oak have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crescent turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
