Basketball Recap: Rib Lake Skates Past Mellen with Ease

While Rib Lake didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 65-34 win over the Mellen Granite Diggers. The Redmen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 31 points or more this season.

Rib Lake's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Mellen, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rib Lake won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Assumption at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mellen, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Bayfield at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Mellen is facing Bayfield at the right time seeing as Bayfield is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
