Basketball Game Preview: Ravenna Bluejays vs. Centura Centurions

The Ravenna Bluejays will square off against the Centura Centurions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ravenna has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 27.

Ravenna is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Elm Creek on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ravenna lost 70-45 to Elm Creek. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 60th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Centura, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They snuck past St. Paul with a 44-38 win on Tuesday.

Ravenna better keep an eye on Weston Kroeger. He was instrumental in Centura's win, going 5 of 10 en route to 14 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Kroeger a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Dvorak, who posted seven points.

Centura's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-9. As for Ravenna, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
