Recap: St. Paul Lutheran Saints vs. Oak Grove Panthers
The St. Paul Lutheran Saints's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down Oak Grove 42-28.
Oak Grove's loss came despite strong showings from Jaxon Weber and Maurkalip Riley. Weber scored nine points along with five rebounds, while Riley scored five points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Riley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.
St. Paul Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Oak Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Paul Lutheran will take on Versailles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Versailles knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 games -- so hopefully St. Paul Lutheran likes a good challenge. As for Oak Grove, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Marshall is ranked 389th, while Oak Grove is ranked 370th).
