Softball Recap: Green Sea Floyds Trojans vs. Hannah-Pamplico Raiders
Green Sea Floyds extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 8-12 in the process. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hannah-Pamplico Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 back in April.
Green Sea Floyds saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blair Elliott, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
As for Hannah-Pamplico, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games.
On Hannah-Pamplico's side, Kadence Poston made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Poston has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Cooper, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Meredith Stone was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
As of now, neither Green Sea Floyds nor Hannah-Pamplico have any future games scheduled.
