Game recap: Middle Creek High School Football Team bests Holly Springs

APEX, N.C. - Middle Creek (Apex, N.C.) snapped the four-game winning streak of Holly Springs (N.C.), with a 35-14 victory on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by Jay Schuller in the first quarter, the Mustangs led 28-14 at the half.

Middle Creek grew its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. MC's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by Brant Grisel to Troy Diebolt.

The Apex school went into the matchup giving up only 17.9 points per game. Holly Springs' 14 points were well below their season average of 32.4 per game.



The loss comes after Holly Springs defeated Cary 48-14 last week. The win brought Middle Creek's winning streak to four games.

In a 4A Conference 13 game next week Middle Creek (6-2) takes on Athens Drive, and Holly Springs (4-4) will go up against Green Hope also in a 4A Conference 13 game.
