Recap: Lake View Wild Gators vs. Pee Dee Academy Eagles
The Lake View Wild Gators put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Pee Dee Academy 38-24. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but Lake View was the (much) better team in the second half.
Lake View got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gwendasia Page out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Page has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaleya Ford, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Lake View's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Pee Dee Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
Lake View will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Lumberton at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. Lumberton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 344th in North Carolina, while Lake View is ranked 53rd in South Carolina). Pee Dee Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cathedral Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
