Softball Recap: Havana Sets Scoring Season-High Against Astoria/VIT

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Havana). They never let the Astoria/VIT Rebels get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Ducks in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won seven in a row.

Kaydi Miller and Addie Atwater did most of the damage at the plate: Miller scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Atwater went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Atwater snagged this season. Ava Kramer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Havana was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Astoria/VIT only posted a batting average of .143.

Havana's win bumped their record up to 9-1-1. As for Astoria/VIT, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Havana will challenge Illini West at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Astoria/VIT, they will take on West Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
