Baseball Recap: Monterey Takes a Loss

Monterey fell victim to Amarillo and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Sandies, falling 10-0. The Plainsmen's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Monterey saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brent Sanders, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 5-23-1. As for Amarillo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-8-1 record this season.

Monterey is taking a road trip to square off against Lubbock-Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Plainsmen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Amarillo, they will face off against Frenship at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
