After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Marquette finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lafayette Lancers by a score of 1-0. Marquette's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Marquette's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-6. As for Lafayette, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Marquette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lafayette, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Dominic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Lafayette have won five straight at home, while St. Dominic won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
