Baseball Game Preview: Lynden Lions vs. Ferndale Golden Eagles

The Lynden Lions will square off against the Ferndale Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Lynden turned things around against Sehome on Tuesday. They skirted past the Mariners 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Ferndale came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Bellingham on Tuesday.

Nolan Boleak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ferndale is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Carson Brown was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

The victory got Ferndale back to even at 7-7. As for Lynden, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Everything went Lynden's way against Ferndale in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Lynden made off with a 7-0 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
