Volleyball Recap: Maloney Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

There's no place like home for Maloney, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past the Putnam Clippers 3-0 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Clippers: they've now won three in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Maloney was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-14, 25-12.

Among those leading the charge was Abdiel Cividanes, who had eight digs and two aces. Those two aces gave him a new career-high. London Cheeks also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Maloney was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Putnam didn't served any aces.

Maloney's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Putnam, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Coming up, Maloney will be playing in front of their home fans against Enfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Putnam, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Rockville on the 15th.
