Baseball Game Preview: Hatch Valley Bears vs. Socorro Warriors

For the second straight game, Hatch Valley will face off against Socorro. The Bears will head out to face off against the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hatch Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Hatch Valley turned things around against Socorro on Wednesday. They blew past the Warriors 14-4. The Bears not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th.

ALAN RUIZ spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits. He has become a key player for Hatch Valley: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-10 otherwise.

At the plate, RAY RUIZ was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. MIGUEL MARQUEZ was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Hatch Valley's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-11. As for Socorro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
