Basketball Recap: South Hills Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

South Hills won the last time they faced North Side, and Javeon Flemings did his part to make sure it happened again. The South Hills Scorpions walked away with a 54-44 victory over the North Side Steers on Tuesday thanks in part to Flemings, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why North Side lost, don't look at Trustin Holland. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points and six steals. Darien Fantroy was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

South Hills is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-20 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for North Side, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

South Hills will venture away from home to square off against Paschal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Paschal will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something South Hills surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Side, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trimble Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
