Softball Recap: Claremont Takes a Loss

Claremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ayala Bulldogs. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Wolfpack were not able to get on the board.

Claremont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Avalos, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Claremont's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Ayala, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Claremont will welcome Bonita at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolfpack's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bearcats have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Ayala, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glendora at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
