Archbishop Mitty has gone a perfect 10-0 against Gilroy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Archbishop Mitty Monarchs will face off against the Gilroy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Archbishop Mitty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Archbishop Mitty will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Carlmont on Tuesday. Archbishop Mitty walked away with a 13-8 win over Carlmont. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Meanwhile, while Gilroy put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Salinas. Gilroy blew past Salinas 8-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Mustangs have posted against the Cowboys since April 2, 2019.

Not much got past Ariela Yslava, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Salinas off the board.

On the hitting side, Dani Wilson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Leilany Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Archbishop Mitty pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Gilroy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
