It's playoff time, and Stanley-Boyd had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Marathon Red Raiders with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The Orioles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Raiders, too.
Stanley-Boyd walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-21.
Kelly Lew paced Stanley-Boyd's offense, picking up 19 kills. Lew got some help from Bailey Sikora and her 30 assists. Lew was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.
Stanley-Boyd has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 23 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 40-4 record this season. As for Marathon, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-14.
Stanley-Boyd didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Stratford on the 25th. Marathon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
