Melissa has gone a perfect 9-0 against Denison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Melissa Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Denison Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Melissa's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Anna, sneaking past 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Denison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against McKinney North, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 481st in Texas, while the Bulldogs are ranked 109th in Texas).

Melissa's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Denison, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Everything went Melissa's way against Denison in their previous matchup back in January, as Melissa made off with a 4-1 victory. Will Melissa repeat their success, or does Denison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
