Softball Recap: Haverhill Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dracut on Thursday, Haverhill came back down to earth. The Hillies lost 7-1 to the Chelmsford Lions on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hillies of the 9-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Haverhill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emmy Monnreal (2025), who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Haverhill's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Chelmsford, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haverhill will venture away from home to square off against Central Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Chelmsford, they will challenge Concord-Carlisle at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
