Baseball Recap: Marbury Comes Up Short

Marbury extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-21. They fell 8-3 to Holtville. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Holtville this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on Tuesday.

As for Holtville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Holtville's part, KELAN KIMBRO was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. KIMBRO has become a key player for Holtville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of GAVIN RUSSOM, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Holtville beat Marbury by a score of 10-1 later that day.
