Basketball Recap: Winston Comes Up Short

Winston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 41-26 fall against the Grundy County Panthers. The Red Birds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Winston's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Grundy County, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Winston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-26 defeat against Newtown-Harris on the 7th. Grundy County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Meadville at 6:00 p.m. on February 20th.
