Football Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short

Riverview and Viera squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Riverview had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Hawks and fell 54-13. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Viera's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Duke Butler led the charge by rushing for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. What's more, Butler posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September. Shaun Hartman Jr was in the mix too, providing Viera with two TDs.

Riverview's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Viera, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Riverview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Viera, they will head out to square off against Armwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Armwood's defense has only allowed 5.3 points per game this season, so Viera's offense will have their work cut out for them.
